The Pocono Mountain East Marching Band is proud to have finished in the Top 10 at the 2006 Atlantic Coast Championships held at Lackawanna Stadium on November 11, 2006. The band finished ninth place in Group II, our highest finish in PME history.

The Pocono Mountain East Marching Band is a dedicated ensemble of eighth through twelfth grade students. Membership in the ensemble is voluntary and involves performing at all PME Varsity Football games as well as marching at numerous field competitions throughout the fall months. Although performances begin in September, the group begins rehearsals in June and does not stop until mid-November.

The band is a former member of Tournament Of Bands Chapter VII (Northeast PA and Upstate New York). From 2002 to 2005, Pocono East competed in Group III classification (56-80 playing members). As of the 2006 season, Pocono East competes in Group II classification (35-55 playing members).

The PME Marching Band is the four-time Chapter VII Group III Champion and four-time Atlantic Coast Championship Finalist. In 2006, the Band earned ninth place and the title of Silver Level Finalist at the Atlantic Coast Championships. In the 2008 season, Pocono Mountain East will be competeing in USSBA. The home show, Music Over the Mountains, will now become the USSBA Northeast Regional competition.

On November 24, 2005, the band was greatly honored to be selected to represent the state of Pennsylvania in the 79th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, held in New York City. The band is proud to be a member of the Macy's band family.

In March 2006, the marching band traveled to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. They marched down Main Street, U.S.A. for thousands of live spectators as part of the Magic Kingdom's Share a Dream Come True Parade. Pocono Mountain East is honored to have been selected to be a part of the magic at Walt Disney World.
